Prof. Eileen Scanlon

Professor Eileen Scanlon OBE FAcSS is Regius Professor of Open Education and Associate Director of Research and Innovation in the Institute of Educational Technology at the Open University, UK. She is also Honorary Professor in Moray House School of Education, University of Edinburgh.

She has extensive research experience on educational technology projects and has published extensively in the field of Technology Enhanced Learning. She is currently involved in research projects that explore aspects of digital scholarship to develop open educational resources; investigate science learning in formal and informal settings concentrating on the development of an inquiry learning pedagogy and citizen inquiry; and develop innovative approaches to evaluation of learning (e.g. games based learning and citizen science).

Prof. Dr. Stefan Dietze

Prof. Dr. Stefan Dietze is scientific director of Knowledge Technologies for the Social Sciences at GESIS (Cologne), Professor of Data & Knowledge Engineering (DKE) at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf (HHU), deputy director of the Heine Center for AI and Data Science (HeiCAD) and affiliated member at the L3S Research Center (Hannover). His research is at the intersection of information retrieval, NLP, machine learning and semantic technologies and the application to improve access and interpretation of data and behavior on the Web. A particular focus of his work is on understanding and supporting informal learning and knowledge acquisition in online settings. Stefans work is frequently published at venues such as SIGIR, The Web Conf, CIKM, CHIIR, or LAK, where he also serves as member of organization and program committees.
 

Prof. Diana Laurillard

Professor of Learning with Digital Technology at UCL Knowledge Lab, University College London. Formerly: Head of the e-Learning Strategy Unit at the government’s Department for Education and Skills; Pro-Vice-Chancellor Learning Technology and Teaching at the Open University. Served on: the Governing Board of the UNESCO Institute for IT in Education, Moscow; Visiting Committee on IT, Harvard University, currently Mosaik Education, Kortext Advisory Board, McGraw-Hill Editorial Advisory Board. Researching: ‘The Transformational Potential of MOOCs’ (Centre for Global HE, UCL-IOE); ‘Future Education’ (RELIEF Centre, UCL-IGP); the Learning Designer tool. Leading the Blended and Online Learning Design course, free and open to all. Recent book: Teaching as a Design Science, Routledge. Lifetime Contribution Award, E-Assessment Association; Honorary Life Membership for Association for Learning Technology and Club Fondation Universitaire, Belgium; Honorary Fellow UCL. Named as being in top 2% world scientists, Stanford University Jan 2022.
