Empowering soft skills and digital competencies in higher education

Aim and Scope

In a world of constant and diverse change, the ability to be creative, resourceful, understanding and reflective is significantly important both to successfully continue to progress and to respond to challenges in everyday life. In the context of higher education, developing the potential of university students and equalising opportunities could be achieved only through effective faculty development programs which enhance and empower the life skills of learners and academic staff. Online communities have a crucial role in higher education to enhance these personal and social skills between students and between students and teacher trainers in networked learning. In the area of teachers’ professional development, learning communities offer valuable opportunities for authentic and personalised learning.
